Frequently asked questions

Can I use AI generated images? +

Yes. We're trying to figure out a way to embed it to make it easier, but it's still expensive to host at scale.

How do I submit works of fiction? +

Look for the orange button labeled '+ New Title' in the top right corner of the page. Clicking this button will take you to a form where you can submit your work of fiction. You'll be asked to provide a title, an image, and some other questions and then bingo bango, you're done.

How do I submit roles and casting choices? +

On your casting's page, you'll want to look for the 'Add a role' button. It'll be in orange. Answer the few questions asked and you're done!

How do I search for existing works of fiction? +

At the very top of the site, you'll see a search field. Type the name of the work you're looking for and hit 'return' (or 'Enter' if that's the kind of keyboard you have.)

What are the guidelines for submitting works of fiction? +

If it's a published work, it's fair game. It's not a rule, per se, but I'd probably discourage trying to fancast things that have very recently been made into films, but that's just me. If you or your friends enjoy that sort of thing, have at it.

How do I know if my submission has been accepted? +

At the time of this writing, there are no requirements for acceptance. If you submit it (and it is not a duplicate of something that already exists) it will be live as soon as you publish it.

How long will it take for my submission to be reviewed? +

There is no review process whatsoever, but the general rule of thumb is that things which get likes are more likely to be seen by other users. So, if you want to get your fancasting seen, tell your friends about it!

What kinds of works of fiction can be submitted? +

The sky's the limit. I've added just about every kind I can think of, from video games to anime to theater, but if we're missing something, contact me and let me know and I'll *probably* add it.
